On Monday 6th July, Crown will be welcoming James Norton, a graduate of AVUK’s pioneering Auditory Verbal Therapy (AVT) programme as an honorary intern.

Earlier this year, Crown announced Auditory VerbalUK (AVUK) as our chosen charity. Since our work to help them celebrate their milestone 10th anniversary at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire in Greenwich, Crown have been working with AVUK behind the scenes to create a new visual identity that reflects their ongoing work to enable deaf babies and young children to listen and speak on a par with their hearing peers.

“The team are excited to having James on board. Particularly as a former student with AVUK, he will enrich our learnings to excel in our own communications and to live our values in our every day work” comments Nicky Havelaar, MD at Crown. “We are looking forward to James getting stuck into projects and gaining his first business work experience at Crown.”

Anita Grover, Chief executive at AVUK says “Crown are leading the way in providing the first work experience placement for one of our young graduates. We are thrilled that James will have an opportunity to show that he can do all that his hearing peers can do and gain experience in a fantastic organisation. We hope that many other companies will follow Crown’s example and help us to change expectations for deaf children ’.

Crown is currently finalising the creative work for AVUK’s new branding, which will be unveiled in Summer 2015.
